Planning

We keep an active eye on the strategic planning process locally.
In recent years we have commented on strategic documents such as:
  • the Unitary Development Plan (UDP)
  • the Local Development Framework (LDF)
  • consultations such as the West London Waste Plan (March 2011)
Richmond and Twickenham Friends of the Earth does not generally become involved in planning applications on individual local sites.

However, where issues of environmental importance such as pollution, transport, energy efficiency or nature conservation are involved, we are happy to help local community organisations who want to participate in the planning process and are in need of support and information

We highly recommend Power Up, Friends of the Earth's annual residential training weekend on Planning for community groups:

Power – Up 2011 (Planning, the Law and your Rights)

New for 2011: ‘Planning Law Taster Session’ including the Localism Bill and getting involved in your Neighbourhood Plan.
