We have been campaigning for more recycling and composting in the London Borough of Richmond and nationally for many years. We also campaign against the incineration of waste which we believe has serious consequences for public health, undermines recycling and composting and wastes potentially valuable materials.
We are pleased that recycling and composting rates have now improved
to around 40% per annum. At last the Council has set up a fairly
comprehensive kerbside (door to door) recycling collection in the Borough
and is encouraging residents to recycle and compost at home.

We hope that additional materials, such as batteries and electrical goods, will be added to the collection and continue to talk to the Council's Recycling and Waste Minimisation officers about this as it is important that we minimise the amount of waste that is not recycled or composted.
