"It’s good to get involved with something that’s positive and constructive, rather than falling into the trap of thinking there’s nothing you can do."

Thom Yorke, Friends of the Earth supporter, and Radiohead frontman.
Everyone is welcome to come along to our meetings and events to find out what we do and  join in.  Please see our Events Calendar page for details of what we are doing.
What’s in it for you?

On top of helping out by campaigning with us you’ll also get something back:

  • You’ll see that you can make a difference and feel good about it!
  • You'll meet like minded people
  • You'll keep up-to-date with Friends of the Earth's campaigns; and
  • You'll get lots of opportunities to get training to help you to understand environmental issues and gain new skills, such as lobbying politicians, effective photography and talking to the media.
What might you get involved in...

Whatever your background or walk of life, we will find ways of helping you to put your skills and interests to good use. As an active member, you might find yourself doing any of the following with the group:

  • Writing news updates
  • Talking to the public at a stall
  • Researching issues to support campaigns
  • Media work via Facebook and twitter or with local newspapers
  • Lobbying our local MPs
  • Making campaigning materials and props
  • Helping out at public meetings

You don't have to be a member to attend our meetings, although we will encourage you to join when you've visited a few times. Membership still costs only £7.50 a year!
